Memoir coach and author Marion Roach

Welcome to The Memoir Project, the portal to your writing life.

How to Say it With Words? Like This.

SOMETIMES WRITERS GET INVITED to do things they have only dreamed about. I once dreamed about writing and publishing songs, and spent my teens at the piano composing music and writing lyrics. It was heady, but the pursuit got left behind for a different medium. Until now. When the invitation came in from a Nashville recording artist to write some lyrics, I was thrilled, but never more thrilled than I am right now to introduce you to the song, just out, from Rusty Gear called “Say it With Words,” co-written with me.

I think it is the theme song for writers everywhere. See if you agree.

Listen to it here (just hover over middle of the photo and then click on the arrow that appears) and then please go grab it on your favorite music platform and sing along and share. After all, it’s about coming together through the power of language.

Congrats, Marion! I am credited & copyrighted as the lyricist for the 4th movement of a commissioned choral work that was initially performed last week. Am I due future payments/royalties if I do not have a split agreement with the composer? Do you have such an agreement in place?
